SIP & SPARKLE AT CODORNIU WINERY 

Be ready to jump out on a short drive out from Barcelona to discover the Penedès DO area, where you’ll find the oldest winery in Spain: Cavas Codorniu; a modernist jewel built by the renowned architecture Puig I Cadafalch and declared as National Historic Artistic Monument in 1976. 

In this activity you will learn the History and Heritage of the Codorniu family and understand the full process of the elaboration of cava (sparkling wine). 

You will be introduced and guided through all the facilities where the magic of sparkling winemaking comes to life, which includes descending to its 30km underground cava galleries and touring them on fun small electric trains. The tour also features a visit to the winery’s museum and beautiful garden areas. 

The route concludes in a charming tasting room, where you’ll enjoy three Codorníu cavas paired with local cheeses. Afterwards, you will have around 30 minutes to browse the shop and purchase souvenirs or bottles of cava to take home to your loved ones. 

After this amazing and exciting experience, you will enjoy lunch at the property’s restaurant to enjoy a menu inspired by traditional Catalan flavors and perfectly paired with the winery’s renowned cavas.
